Twenty-Three

I am a bit behind on my pregnancy updates because I've been offline (on purpose) for the past week or so.

Howsomever: while we were on vacation last week, I started having Braxton-Hicks contractions. Oh, yeah, forgot about those. Those are the contractions your body starts having to prepare you for the real thing. What would happen is that my whole uterus would suddenly pull together (or, for you fancy pants, contract), my abdomen would tighten like a drum, I would gasp and grab at my stomach, and I could then feel the baby's (fetus') gigantic head smashed up against the skin. Then I would breathe, and drink a whole lot of water, and it would stop. Quite often, Rosie (Viva's name of choice for her sister) would wriggle around while this was happening, which was even more unpleasant. Right about now this is happening roughly twice a day.

Oh, also! Heartburn. Dammit.

P.S. I am thoroughly sick of maternity clothes. Let it be known, and let us never speak of this again.
