Hello, heartburn, my old friend
You’ve come to wake me up again
Because my uterus softly creeping,
Pushed acid up while I was sleeping,
And now I’m drinking milk while watching baby shows
While my own little baby grows…
So yeah, heartburn. Back like a raging hurricane of acid in my throat at 2:14 AM.
And yeah, shortness of breath.
And oh yeah, center of gravity? Completely off. If I lose my balance, I can’t stop myself from falling. Which resulted in me falling against my dining room table the other day, scraping my arm and pulling a muscle in my leg, in an effort not to fall flat on the floor.
Oh, and falling asleep at 8 pm, up at 2, back to sleep at 4:15, up at 5, back to sleep at 5:30, punching the alarm clock in frustration at 6 AM.
Love you, baby. I know it will all be worth it.

So I'm catching up on lots of missed posts here- thanks for an entertaining read, sorry it has to be at your expense and great discomfort. Heartburn? Hate it. And center of gravity? With #3 I slipped at about 37 weeks and staggered forward, managing to stay on my feet, which I attribute to my cat-like reflexes and ninja skills, but pulling a muscle and scaring the bejeepers out of me. 2 days later I lost my mucus plug (seriously could they come up with a less disgusting name for that thing?) and within the week I went into labor. Ah yes, pregnancy does not lend itself to agility and grace.
Yeah, what is it with the mucus plug? With my first, I went into the maternity ER with preterm labor and there was a woman in there talking loudly on her cell phone about how she was supposed to have a C-section but then she lost her MUCUS PLUG and the doctors told her to come in right away and it looked like they were going to deliver the baby that day because well because she lost her MUCUS PLUG and on and on and on and her MUCUS PLUG. My husband and I were just sitting there looking at each other, rolling our eyes and trying not to laugh too loudly.
Yeah, mucus plug. Gross.
