A Positive Spin

So apparently I have a urinary tract infection. I have been prescribed a medication which I am supposed to take 4 times a day on an empty stomach – either one hour before I eat or 2-3 hours after. Since I must eat as soon as I get up in order to avoid gagging, and eat every couple of hours thereafter in order to stave off the overwhelming nausea, I fear that this is an impossible prescription. I really do not remember being this sick with Viva. However, I am buoyed by the stuff I read on the Internet that says morning sickness means you have plenty of pregnancy hormones in your system, which means the fetus (embryo?) is developing as it should. According to BabyCenter, “If your baby or your placenta were not developing properly, you'd have lower levels of pregnancy hormones in your system, so it follows that you'd have little or no nausea.” I’ll take my comfort where I can get it.

Other than the unrelenting nausea and occasional gastrointestinal upset, things are good.
